The spay/neuter bill WILL pass in CLARK county. It doesn't matter how many
people show up or what they say, or what documents of proof they have that this is a
bad law, it will pass. Las Vegas and North Las Vegas have passed this law for dogs
and cats at four (4) months of age. Clark County has changed the age for Clark
County to six (6) months of age for dogs and four (4) for cats. We got a small bone
tossed our way by getting the age changed to six (6) months. This is a start. We have
to give and take, so we can attempt to make amendments to the bill down the road.
We will have a Breeder/Show Dog permit along with a Fanciers Permit. The
Breeder/Show Dog Permit will allow us to have eight (8) dogs in the county. Animal
Control will not come to the show site to check for anything. They do not want to
bother us. They want to stop the backyard breeders who are pumping out litter after
litter. If you have a permit animal control will only come to your house once a year,
by appointment only, to renew it. Animal control is very short of officers and money.

due to the cost and higher rate of euthanasia this bill will cause.
Clark County will meet on Jan. 5, 2010 at 9:00 am. This bill will be read, discussed
and voted on.
